 JAMB UPDATE

JAMB has announced the date and venue of the 2016 Computer Based Test (CBT) exam.

According to JAMB, the 2016 UTME will commence on Monday, February 29th, 2016 and would last for seven days. The venue of the examination will be at the candidates’ chosen town during on-line registration.

Writing materials and calculator will be made available to candidates on the day of the examination.
 
You might want to print enough copies of your JAMB slip or in some cases need to re-print your Jamb slip whether as a result of misplacement or as requested by Jamb itself so as to reflect your specific exam date.  Whatever the case may be the process is very simple...

2. Click on ‘Re-Print your Slip’ tab
3. Enter your Registration Number/PIN in the required field,

 What is IJMB?

IJMB which is the abbreviation for Interim Joint Matriculation Board is an Advanced Level program popularly known as A'level, managed, overseen and moderated by Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria which allows successful students to get admissions into 200 Level of almost all Nigerian universities, and candidates can actually study any course of their choice. Here's a list of Nigerian universities that accepts IJMB into 200 level. Normally, it's supposed to be a 9 months program, but since students tend not to resume at the same time, hence we have students who only end up spending between 7 months and 5 months throughout the IJMB programme.

Success in IJMB isn't determined by how much time you spend in the programme but by your level of dedication and optimum determination to achieve your goal, In short you just have to be serious and sacrifice time and energy to study hard, then success is inevitable. We must say the exam is not as difficult as people portray it to be provided you can sit tight to pass the IJMB exam. IJMB shouldn't be seen as a brainee program but also for people in search for a second chance. We must tell you this, we have trained students that got 15 points out of the 16 points obtainable in total on different occasions after taking the programme for almost less than 6 months.

Well, that's why you have to let the right person lead you, because without the right lecturers for the right subject, definitely IJMB students will have problem if not problems.

 IJMB will allow you to choose three courses/subjects that are related to what you want to study in the university of your choice. The highest point for each course is five(5) points, which is denoted by A. That is, all the three courses will have fifteen (15) points in total, with an additional one (1) point provided you dont have F (fail) in any of the three courses. Making a total of sixteen points (16) all together.

IJMB Grading
A = 5 points
B = 4 points
C = 3 points
D = 2 points
E = 1 points
F = 0 points

For you to be considered to have passed IJMB exam you must have scored a minimum of  5 points in total i,e EDE which stands for (1+2+1) which is five (5) points.

Comparing IJMB and JAMB
1. The result takes about 7 years to expire unlike your JAMB that is only for a year.
2. You can use it over and over again.
3. You can be doing IJMB and still apply for JAMB if you want to kill two birds with a stone
4. You will have higher PGD in your university as its going to be divided by 3years not four years like others who used JAMB.
5. You have a higher possibility of gaining admission unlike people depending solely on JAMB
 

 Statistics has proven that annually, 15,000 applicants put in for the programme and over 12,000 candidates secure admission with IJMB in to 200 level to their preferred university & course giving a success rate of over 75% of the applicants as compared to JAMB which close to 1.7million applicants sit for and just about 20% fraction gets admitted.
